Are Roll-Fed Labels Right for Me?

Like a Cut and Stack label, the adhesive is applied at the bottling or packaging facility for Roll-Fed labels. Similar to a Pressure Sensitive label, Roll-Fed labels are also supplied to the customer on rolls, which is where their name comes from.

Though Roll-Fed labels can be made with both paper and film substrates, they are typically printed on film substrates as you can achieve much faster labeling speeds with film.

During the labeling process the roll of labels is fed through the labeling machine and a thin line of hot melt adhesive or glue is applied to the leading edge of the label. An “eye-mark” tells the machine when to cut the label at which point another strip of glue is applied and it finishes wrapping around the container.
