Are Blow Mold Labels Right for Me?
Blow Mold labeling is a container decoration method where the label is placed in the mold before the container is formed. The label, with the help of heat activated adhesives on the back, fuses to the wall of the container and becomes a part of the container wall itself.
Blow Mold labels are becoming increasingly popular for household products that require product resistance and in the beverage market for juices and teas.
Blow molded parts most often start with a preform, a test tube like piece of plastic with an open top or mouth. The preform is placed in the mold and hot air is blown into the tube, expanding the sides to fill the mold, taking on the shape of the container. Due to the very thin wall thickness of blow molded containers, a heat activated adhesive is often used to ensure adequate adhesion to the container wall.
